Timor Leste project

Four years after independence and freedom, Timor Leste is one the world’s least developed nations. With the battle of independence won, this impoverished country is looking towards rebuilding itself after generations of horror. Through the auspices of Yooralla Youth Ministries members of the congregation have travelled to Seurtulan, a village in the centre of East Timor Island, and assisted with a village building program. Yooralla’s goal for this village is to build 37 homes, a medical clinic and a community hall. Proceeds from the parish’s recycling program also go to support this project.
