The Beanstalk Project
The Parish of St Augustine’s, Victor Harbor supports the ministry of the Church of the Ascension by providing funds to purchase food for Indigenous people seeking assistance at the Rectory.
As a way of focussing on their giving, the parishioners at St Augustine’s have imagined a giant beanstalk that is growing from Victor Harbor to Alice Springs. Having now completed the return journey from Victor Harbor to Alice Springs, the parish has now undertaken to extend their ‘journey’ to ‘visit’ our links within Central Australia including Areyonga, Canteen Creek and Kintore.

The Melbourne Mission Mob
Since 2005, a small group of young professionals from the Parish of St John’s, Diamond Creekhave been coming to Alice Springs each year to work with Indigenous children and young people in the mid-year school break. Under the leadership of Ben Smith, the group has been working with a local Indigenous organisation to provide activities within their holiday program. This initial endeavour is developing into a broader partnership between the two parishes.
